It was a very nice hotel in a reasonable location with free parking. I was tempted to stay more than one night but as a solo traveller it was a little on the expensive side. Very pleasant helpful staff and very comfy room.
First it had no elevator. We were on the third floor. It is an old hotel with small rooms, which were clean and the bath was remodeled. The chlorine smell pervades the down stairs (from the pool). It is in a working class neighborhood. I did not feel unsafe but it's not a pretty area. The staff was wonderful and helpful. We stayed only one night. It is a budget hotel and students, and young families would find it worthwhile especially with the pool. I forget if it charged for parking. Which had adequate space.
Location was good, b/c it was close to the main city streets, but also convenient to the main highways. Parking lot located behind the hotel was great.Complimentary breakfast was decent. Room was large. Beds were comfortable.
The room location was a bit strange ...located on a floor under the lobby. The room also had a huge column placed between the beds. That was very strange. On Friday night, the floor was very noisy with young people who rented the rooms for a drinking party. But management did respond to a phone call, and come down and speak to them. The strangest part about the hotel was that everyone in Quebec and outside in the suburbs recognized the address and name, b/c 15/20 years ago it had a certain "reputation" for a quickie rendezvous. Perhaps no more, but the reputation lingers. We stopped telling people where we were staying!
Location is very close to the Old City in Quebec, while costing significantly less than the Old City hotels. Admittedly, the Old City is quite up hill from Hotel du Nord, but the walk was great fun. Neighborhood is a little 'kitschie' and eclectic, which appealed to us. Great value, good hotel.
No elevator, we had a thrid floor walk-up.
It was a good price and it was easy to book on-line. It was within walking distance of the Old City and we had a good excursion through it. We enjoyed our dinner at the Asian restaurant across the street and the breakfast was good.
The internet was not working!
The room was clean and comfortable. the staff was helpful as we had never been to Quebec City. they recommended places to visit, and places to eat and made our stay very enjoyable
It was within walking distance to where we wanted to site see to all the down town amenities. Our room was great for the time we were there and the staff were very helpful and understanding of the english language. The salt water pool was especially refeshing.
No bad remarks whatever.
The staff were nice, the place was nice and clean
We would of liked tea/coffee and a jug in our room. Our room was so small you could hardly turn around, It was so hot in our room. The air conditioner was to small and very loud.
The saltwater pool was an unexpected bonus! Small but we had it to ourselves one morning. Would have been nice to be able to use it later at night the first night we arrived though, after a ten hour drive!
The friendly staff. The location was O.K. since it was near to the bus route and nit tii far away from major attractions. The price was good and there was good parking facilities and good breakfasts daily.
Nothing that can be changed at this time.
Excellent location, right at the bus stop. Superb front office and catering staff.
Three stories but no elevator.
I was there for three days and felt almost home. Great bed and excelent clothing. Free parking was very good but baggage access upstairs is quite unconfortable. You have to drive to back street to park but there is un easy access to the lobby. Morning breakfast is top ranking. Recomended.
This hotel was the closest available at time of booking for OldQuebec city. The staff was always helpful and pleasant and the room was always clean. Breakfast was basic and plentiful and the breakfast room was cleaned daily
Too far from the major place of interest to walk but fortunately the buses ran right by the door
Me and my friends liked the family atmosphere of the hotel, all personnel was friendly, the rooms were very clean, and warm. The cafeteria at the main floor had a good enough breakfast to get you started for the day, and was open 24/7. Excellent location, 20 min walk to Vieux Port. We would definitely stay there again. Good value for the money!
We stayed two nights at the Hotel du Nord. The room was very large, comfortable, and clean. The hotel is fairly close to Quebec center - but a bit difficult to reach by foot. A bus line runs in front of the hotel. During our stay two bus loads of high school students spent the weekend at the hotel as well. We complained about the hallway noise and stair traffic several times - but it continued past 11 pm both nights. Unfortunately, we did not have a very restfull night stay at the hotel. The breakfast buffet was ok, but taken over by the students each day.
